John M. Alpay is a seasoned general counsel and senior corporate executive with over twenty years of in-house experience working for a multitude of companies with presence in Southern California including but not limited to:

  • Performance Designed Products LLC (largest third-party accessories provider in the world)
  • Oakley, Inc.
  • Samsung Electronics America Inc. (Information Technology Division, American Distribution Center and Global Parts Center)
  • Gateway, Inc./eMachines, Inc.

Mr. Alpay has experience in all facets of law and business on a global scale which enables him to provide sound legal and business advice on all matters of company operations, from corporate governance, logistics and transportation, intellectual property, labor & employment, privacy and consumer products.   

Mr. Alpay is also active in the education community, currently serving as the head of Legal and Real Estate at Norco College.  Previously Mr. Alpay taught at Cal State Fullerton, College of Business & Economics and Saddleback College.  He has also guest lectured at the UC Irvine School of Law. 

Since he first began his career in the Los Angeles office of McDermott, Will & Emery LLP, Mr. Alpay has taken an active role in politics, including two terms as Governing Board Member for the Capistrano Unified School District.  Having recently completed his second term as Executive Chairman of the San Juan Capistrano Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Alpay now serves as the Chairman of the Bond Oversight Committee for the City of San Juan Capistrano.

In recognition of his accomplishments, the Orange County Business Journal named Mr. Alpay as Outstanding General Counsel of the Year in the Public Company category.
